Prior to any work commencing on your site, you must appoint a Principal Certifying Authority (PCA).
The (PCA) is tasked with completing the following mandatory critical stage inspections throughout the course of construction sequence:
- After excavation for, and prior to the placement of, any footings, and
- Prior to pouring any in-situ reinforced concrete building element, and
- Prior to covering of the framework for any floor, wall, roof or other building element, and
- Prior to covering waterproofing in any wet areas, and
- Prior to covering any stormwater drainage connections, and
- After the building work has been completed and prior to any Occupation Certificate being issued in relation to the building.
This allows the (PCA) to certify that works are progressing in accordance with the Building Code of Australia, Australian Standards and the conditions of the Development Consent.
Once all works have been completed to a satisfactory standard the (PCA) will issue an Occupation Certificate.
